About Us

Sleep Center Hawaii is the largest medical sleep center in the state, with a total of 12 beds. We have locations in Pearl City, Honolulu, Hilo, and Kona.  All of our centers are furnished like upscale hotel rooms.  All of our labs are  accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. This is the highest award possible, with only 1800 accredited centers worldwide. We accept all major insurances, and sleep studies are usually covered.

Gabriele Barthlen, M.D. and Ford Shippey, M.D. are joined by Mark Dichner, Ph.D. and Clinical Psychologist Michelle James, Psy.D. in order to provide sleep-related behavioral health services. 

We also have our own Durable Medical Equipment (DME) division for dispensing and servicing CPAP/BiPAP devices and interfaces (accessories such as masks, tubing, and headgear). This allows for better continuity of patient care.
